Although there are an estimated 4.1 million cases of food poisoning in Australia each year, we still have no long term funding to reduce this rate of food poisoning so now we have to turn to other fundraising options. Although our members contribute close to $500,000 a year in donated time and resources we still need cash to pay for essentials such as website, phone bills and insurance as well as the costs of Food Safety Week. About 1,000 people a day access the food safety information on our website and 2,000 a day read our social media.
Our 2018-19 Australian Food Safety Week and summer campaign ‘Food poisoning- take it seriously was highly successful:
- Our TV and radio ad distribution was worth $1,026,939 had they been purchased
- Our videos were shown in 5,300 GP surgeries during December and January reaching an audience of 15 million a month
- We reached an audience of over 2 million with our media interviews.
We are asking you to make a tax deductable donation using the secure form below to us to help us keep going. All of our board and executive members volunteer our expertise in food safety and communications so any donation goes to directly fund our work.
